A major tech company’s AI image generator faced heavy criticism recently for producing deeply offensive and biased images. This shocking example highlights the dangers of unchecked AI, showing how these tools can amplify existing inequalities. While a far cry from a company image generator, my own experience with AI recently drove home a similar point: it’s essential to verify even the most cutting-edge AI’s output.

AI Reliability: A Cautionary Tale
The vast majority I liked – although some of the words (dynamic, extensive, leader) are a little outside of my modesty comfort zone and the reference to starting my career in 1986 was a stark reminder that I really am ‘that old’.
I wish the AI was right about my cooking skills! Unfortunately, the reality is much less impressive – I still burn toast. This humorous mishap shows that even AI can get the basics wrong, which is why verification is crucial.
